**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are NOT currently able to operate our Cat About Town service**
Cat About Town - Home Visiting Service.
Launched September 2017
Whether related to boxing your cat, the journey itself or the sights and smells of a veterinary clinic, here at The Cat Clinic, we understand only too well how stressful visits to the vet can be for some cats (and their owners!). Because of this, we have decided to trial 'Cat About Town' our new home visiting service for our patients, offering them the opportunity to have routine examinations performed in the comfort of their own home.
With the facilities offered at the surgery as backup, you can be assured that in the event your pet does require further investigation and treatment, surgery or even hospitalisation, this can be done within our own feline only practice by one of our own experienced vets.

Although we can visit young kittens at home, we feel that a visit to a veterinary clinic early in their lives is an important learning experience, creating a familiarity which will help to reduce anxieties associated with vet visits in the future. For this reason we would suggest our youngest patients still enjoy the adventure of a visit to The Cat Clinic for at least their initial vaccination course.
How it works:
The Cat About Town, mobile veterinary service is available to clients living within a 2 mile radius** of the clinic and operates on Monday and Tuesday mornings, with 30 minute appointments available between 9.30am – 12pm. Outwith these times The Cat Clinic will continue to offer its usual restricted house calls.
**Following the success of our trial of the Cat About Town home visiting service, we have decided to increase the radius within which we can provide routine house visits to 3 miles. However, due to the significant increases in travel time across the city, there will be a surcharge per visit for clients living between 2 and 3 miles from the clinic. ( Please see prices and map below).
Appointments for a home visit can be made via The Cat Clinic reception team on 0131 466 7110. You will then be visited at the agreed time by one of the usual Cat Clinic vets and their assistant.
Payment for the initial Cat About Town consult will be requested when booking the appointment and payment for any further treatment or procedures will be due at the close of the consultation.
As our vets will not carry money with them, we kindly request that a payment card is available at the time of the consultation.
At the time of the appointment, it is advisable to confine your cat to one room with limited hiding spaces. Some form of examination surface (table/kitchen work top) and good lighting is required.
The map below shows the area covered by our CAT service. Blue circle = 2 mile radius of clinic, Red circle = 3 mile radius from clinic.
Please note, we do not offer home visits beyond the boundary of the city bypass
